Practical information models for sharing information

In this session we look at two different approaches to sharing information. We start with the HL7 V2 specification, developed in 1989. This standard is still very widely used to send transactions between health IT systems.

We then move to look at how HL7 Fast Healthcare Information Resources (FHIR) can be used to share vocabulary information using the NHS Terminology Servers, NHS England browsers and the Australian Government CSIRO’s web clients Shrimp and Snapper.

We then move to creating a user interface form represented in FHIR Questionnaire and drawing on the United States federal government open source LHC Form Builder.
